Commitment Rings

Have you heard of commitment rings? They are rings that teens wear to symbolize their pledge to remain pure and abstain from sex until
marriage. There are also necklaces available that some teens choose to wear. Isn't this a marvelous, positive movement?
It takes a lot of courage to stand up for something that is unpopular and considered old-fashioned. I say these teens have wonderful parents who instilled the value of right and wrong - whatever the cost. In fact, some of these teens were afraid they would be laughed at. Instead, other students respected and admired their stand.
If you are the parent of a pre-teen or a teen, you might consider giving
your child a commitment ring as a gift. The idea is for them to exchange rings with their spouse
on their wedding night. I think that is so special! The ring is a daily reminder that they are special and
deserve the reward and pleasure of waiting for their husband or wife to come along and share their lives together as one.
Let's encourage this positive and moral outlook from teens. We can applaud their desires to remain pure and be proud of them. What a
privilege it would be to be a parent of a determined and moral child as these teens have demonstrated they can be.
