Ella Mae the Courageous Cheerleader
Reviewed by Carl Caton

Ella Mae the Courageous Cheerleader is a faith-based children's book written by Stephanie Cameron. Based on a true story, this book tells the story of an enthusiastic cheerleader who loves the sport and genuinely tries to do her very best. But as we know, bullies often try equally as hard to tear others down. Ella Mae courageously perseveres, "meeting their mean with kindness in turn" - a kindness that can only come from the love of Christ. The story teaches a great lesson on how we are to act in the face of opposition and where the source of our strength comes from. This is a cute story that addresses a topic too commonly experienced by kids in school.

The book is beautifully illustrated and is compact in size - just right to hold with a wiggling little one in your lap. Three valuable resources come with the book - a "Let's Talk" discussion section, several pages of scripture references, and a free audio book digital download.

Overall, this is a well written and illustrated faith-based children's book - one that will entertain your kids and teach a valuable lesson as well.
